While I'm a punctual person, even annoyingly so, when it comes to getting somewhere on time, I'm usually a little late to the party when technology—or TV shows—are involved.
Case in point: My "Downton Abbey" season 1 DVDs are (gasp!) still in the plastic, and my copy of The Hunger Games is absolutely pristine because it hasn't even been cracked open (and yes, I realize I need to get on both of those—pronto).
Just in case you were worried, though, I have moved beyond the rotary phone and don't churn my butter by hand, so that's something, right?
Anyway...
So after a pretty lengthy holdout, I have finally got around to tweeting fairly regularly, and checking my Facebook has pretty much become an involuntary reflex as much as I wish that wasn't the case. But the whole Pinterest phenomenon? Well, I'm still on the fence about that...
Yes, I love recipes and inspiration and travel and all things beautiful, but what's in it for me? Or the world at large? What's so great about this particular social medium, and what exactly is the allure of "pinning things?"
Anyone? Anyone? (Yes, I'm thinking of Ferris Bueller as I'm typing this)...
I just got in on it, and I love it because I feel like it's a pretend little world where I can surround myself with everything pretty. :) It makes me smile to check out the boards I'm following. And, when I can't afford to purchase something, at least it can be "mine" on my pin board. It's like free, guiltless shopping. I think it's fun!

Hmmm, shopping without the guilt. That's an intriguing concept. :) Love it.
