When I heard that Ryan Adams might not be recording any music for a good, long while, I'll be honest, I had my doubts. After all, this is the guy who's written about 35,239 songs in the last decade (and yes, I'm exaggerating, but probably not by much...ha ha).
But then when he split with the Cardinals, announced his hiatus and talked about countless health issues (including big problems with his ears, which you know, are rather crucial when you're a musician), I began to think it was true. Maybe Ryan would just hang with Mandy and expect other musicians to pick up the alt-country slack.
Thankfully, it seems that he and music couldn't stay separated for too long. In addition to his superb new single "Lucky Now," there's a new solo album, Ashes & Fire available for pre-order on iTunes. Can I just say that I already can't wait until October 11th?
In the meantime, though, I've been enjoying the latest from Switchfoot, Vice Verses, a little Rosemary Clooney and the new Coldplay single, "Paradise." By the way, does anyone know how many singles Coldplay plans on releasing before we finally get Mylo Xyloto in full? I've been seeing a few different release dates tossed around...
